tgif...

todays theme is...there is no theme. im in a great mood today (i think the overcast weather has something to do with it. just makes me want to be outside...i know, im odd) and i came up with a lot of good themes. but i found too many great things today on etsy...(a smattering of handmade and vintage) and i did not want to have to wait or choose. so i just decided to share them all!

{but first!} exciting news on the kate cotten home front. not only have i broadened my horizons (and my inventory! which sorry i have been keeping mum on that and havent posted any pictures yet, i will get to it this weekend hopefully!) and, working on getting prints made! but now, kate cotten designs has a mailing list! check me out! and all you have to do is sign up in the top right hand corner of the page! you know you want to :)

so TGIF everyone, enjoy!

ok so, i know, i admittedly have an addiction to all things vintage. no surprise there. but ever since a) i discovered Burnham Design {see last post} and b) i finally bought my long time coveted art prints from the extremely talented Amy Blackwell, im on the hunt. for home decor items and vintage ideas for the wedding. (because, duh, of course we are having a vintage-esque wedding, i mean, how could we not?) so of course, here are many more of my delightful etsy vintage finds, enjoy!

Burnham Design...

for those of you that know me well, know that i have coffee table book after coffee table book about designing, vintage finds, decorating, and anything else that gives me ideas about eclectic and vintage-esque decor. i have many favorites among them, and find great ideas from most all designers, but i have never found a designer that so elegantly and precisely defines, in my own personal opinion, the epitome of style. until now. i am IN LOVE with designer Betsy Burnham of Burnham Design. her style is chic, expressive, eclectic and elegant all at the same time. she creates gorgeous interiors that truly showcase a unique personal style.

whether it is a simple, fresh and hip living room....

or a sleek and chic home office...

or a gorgeous texturally appealing living area...

Betsy Burnham shows her uninhibited style choices to be a complete win on all accounts. her use of bold colors, patterns, and textures proves she has the ability to take risks and the passion to be a noteworthy designer.

excerpt from an amazing article on Betsy & Burnham Design on DecorDemon.

"Betsey Johnson may have written the book on layering frocks, but Betsy Burnham holds the reigns to its’ use in interior design. Each of the LA-based designer’s spaces has a multifaceted look rich in texture, pattern, ethnicity and shape. Equally stimulating is her tailoring of curtains, upholstery and accessories — a skill that most likely stems from her formal background in menswear design [one she is totally over talking about]. Design enthusiasts rarely associate tailor-made or glamorous with bohemian, but the expressive trio is well-suited in Betsy’s case. There’s a sophisticated eclecticism in each of her design that defies age, gender and geographical boundaries.

Aside from objects, Ms. Burnham is an authority on the layering of patterns. Ikat and floral with zebra? Well, of course! Leopard paired with snake and chinoiserie? Why not? Variations in sheen and scale allow multicultural materials to play quite nicely together. From Uzbek textiles to Spanish woodwork, this top American designer garnishes worldly aesthetic with a splash of Hollywood glamour."

also, you should check out one of my new favorite sellers on etsy: Kelly, of highstreetmarket worked for Ms. Burnham and also recently gave her some blog love! here are some more amazing examples of her incredible style and work...

(i desperately wish this was the entry way to my house!)

(my personal favorite...the living room and dining room...just exquisite!)

another little something i think is just the greatest thing since sliced bread...don't live in Los Angeles? do not fret! Burnham Design has an alternative service called instant space. that offers their clients a DIY sort of interior design. you send them the information they need and in return you get a presentation box with a master plan for the room, a personalized concept board, and detailed schematics, fabrics, furniture, wallpaper, paint, and a detailed shopping list. how ingenious is that? for more information check out the who, what, where, and hows at instant space.
